#3 September 21 2010, 17:08Unfortunately we can not provide you with the list of features that will be in the update due to the competition between companies in this field. This thread was created to know the customers’ wishes and ideas. The best of them will be realized in near future.1 times edited. Last time by Lena - Sep 21 '10, 17:13.

#4 September 21 2010, 22:25An application for iPad would be nice. You can also consider developing something for Android OS. |

Sure, but you can still access this website with mobile browsers and see the maps. I think for now this should suffice

#6 September 22 2010, 17:20**ANY SHIP ALERT**I would like the ability to set an alert zone and receive data on ANY ship that passes through. At present you have to specify a ship - I would like to be able to leave this blank, or to make it really useful, be able to apply filter(s) to receive data only on a particular set of vessels. |

#7 September 22 2010, 17:28**TOOLTIPS**Can we have the ability to display tooltips when cursor hovers over ship please? This should allow you to specify what information is displayed and customise the order and appearance of each (e.g. if destination was an important factor you would want to display this near the top or in bold) |

#8 September 22 2010, 17:37** LEVEL OF DETAIL MAP PREFERENCES **As nice as the detail is on the maps (just using SE maps) I find it unnecessary and would prefer to turn it off to speed up display. All I want to know is if it is land or sea. Others may need to be more specific and still see labels for place names etc. |

#9 September 22 2010, 17:48** API **Oh for an API! Please let me have access via standard web based protocol to a few basic functions such as: ListShipsInArea(coord_centre, range, [optional_filter]) GetBasicShipData(MMSI) GetAdvancedShipData(MMSI) I will be very happy then!

#10 September 22 2010, 17:56** SAVED FILTER CHAINS **Would be great to have the ability to save a set of custom filter chains. e.g. Cargo Ship whose nav. status is Under Way and status is either IMO Hazard A or IMO Hazard B Name it and save it to a button which can be used to apply at any time. |

#11 September 23 2010, 10:30Ship AlertsThat is actually being worked on right now. The idea with filters is good though, we'll keep that in mind. Tooltips There used to be tooltips, they just displayed the name. We removed them because they aren't that useful. To have a tooltip show up you need to wait almost a second, it's easier to just click on it and look at everything in the left info box. Level of Map Detail Never thought of that. But the satellite option is just "land or sea" ![]() API The problem with this obviously is that anyone can just copy all the data and resell it or use it in connection with another product, which would violate the terms (without us knowing it). People and companies who need this usually contact us directly and we work something out. Saved Filters Not a bad idea but it seems like only a really small portion of people would actually use that. More important features have a higher priority. 1 times edited. Last time by Alex - Sep 23 '10, 10:30.

#13 September 24 2010, 11:10My suggestions;- Batch picture uploading for multiple picture uploading. - Changeable COLORS and FONT SIZES for ship names, tracks and anything that seeming on the map. - Custom Map upload and using on particular areas. (User changeable map layers) - Users can add and change vessels details. - Note/story section for eash vessel that can fill from users. (Users can write ship story, accidents, related important informations, her name meanings, etc. Like a small forum page for that vessel) - Online web application with reduced (or full!) features. (I want to use on some other computers) by the way, I'm still waiting for adding some port names that I've sent you with coordinates in list. öZgür 4 times edited. Can you please elaborate on that?ookten: Batch-uploading: How would you specify which uploaded photo belongs to what vessel? Colors/Fonts: Why? I don't see a reason. The upcoming version (5.2) has better contrast, maybe that'll do it for you ![]() Custom maps: What kind of maps do you want to add and where did you get them from? Vessel details: That information comes from the vessels themselves so in most cases that data is correct and fresh/real-time. Vessel story: When we launched the new website we were thinking about such a feature but I think not many people would write something there, probably only for big and popular vessels. Online web application: Well, the map for each port is exactly that - with reduced features. Coordinates: I don't remember having any ports left to add. Have you checked here (on the website) if your ports are available? The application on your computer will have the new ports after the 5.2 update. |

Batch-uploading: How would you specify which uploaded photo belongs to what vessel?
You can just use unique IMO or MMSI numbers..Actually, dont think to big, you can make this feature for just a vessel. I should send more than one picture for a vessel. So do not mess with to seperate them.
Colors/Fonts: Why? I don't see a reason. The upcoming version (5.2) has better contrast, maybe that'll do it for you
But I see a reason! ![]() It is hard to see tracks line, read time on tracks and some other writings on the map.. Sometimes I need to change map type for catch a better contras.. Maybe new version will be better on this.. if it is better to be interchangeable.
Custom maps: What kind of maps do you want to add and where did you get them from?
I need to use Nautical Charts on it.. Not expensive Vector charts.. just simple jpg-gif maps on some particular areas, such as gulf, ports etc.. Like user changeable Google Earth Custom Layer feature..
Vessel details: That information comes from the vessels themselves so in most cases that data is correct and fresh/real-time.
I meant information that not come from AIS. Like company, agent, register etc.. I think you get this kind of information from IMO or local Maritime org. right? We can contribution for that like we already do on photos.
Vessel story: When we launched the new website we were thinking about such a feature but I think not many people would write something there, probably only for big and popular vessels.
Every vessel have a story.. I'd like to know and share mine.. You could open a small, 256 chars cell for this..
Online web application: Well, the map for each port is exactly that - with reduced features.
oh! yes!.. How do I not seen that?! Thanks..
Coordinates: I don't remember having any ports left to add. Have you checked here (on the website) if your ports are available? The application on your computer will have the new ports after the 5.2 update.
No, not added ports that I've suggested before. You can find my detailed message on Suggestion&Ideas section in this forumSo, we will waiting for v5.2 impatiently! :-) 3 times edited. Last time by ookten - Sep 27 '10, 18:22.

#16 September 28 2010, 9:42Batch-uploading:Another problem is the size limit an HTTP-client can send to the server. This could easily be exceeded if multiple photos were uploaded at once (the server would abort the connection and all photos would be gone). Should more people come forward requesting such a feature, we'll think about it but for now I think it's okay the way it is. Custom maps: Assuming you have a simple JPG-file with a drawn map on it. How would you position the image on the map correctly? You'd also need to scale the image to the actual map size. We would've already done all of this but the problem is those charts aren't free. Edit vessel info: I see what you mean now. Actually it was planned to have the "Advanced Vessel Info"-section for a vessel to be editable but it was delayed. It'll be there eventually ![]() Vessel story: Can you, in further detail, explain what kind of information exactly you'd want to have there? I'm sorry about the missing ports, they'll definitely be in 5.2

#17 September 30 2010, 18:15the posibility to add ships berths so if a ship arrives at a berth the software lets me know like alert zones but the ability to draw rectangle boxes instead of circles to my areas and also the ability to see a ship on its berth when its turned its AIS off is a persistance level user adjustable from say 1 to 48 hours. |

What's wrong with circular alert zones?

#19 October 4 2010, 12:04Hi,Is it possible to set a filter for vessels by deadweight. For example.A filter only shows vessels over 5000 dwt in a selected range(appointed circle). If yes can it be added to programme.Because when we select a rane for a specific area sometimes we are related with specific tonnages not all.And if this feature can be added will be very useful for us.Thanks for your return. |
