The upcoming version of ShippingExplorer will have a completely new AlertZone-feature. However, I don't think we'll integrate such fine details like you want them. Sending SMS every time the vessel changes its speed would be a huge financial hit; e-mails may be free but with this amount of sent messages we could be classified as spam by other providers and thus really important e-mails from us would not reach their recipient.

What "green cubes" are you talking about?

thnks your reply , when vessel proceeding on normal speed will not make so much change on the speed , we will only now when there is trouble on the vessel if speed low and changed the course for example we will insert low then 6 kt and course change of more then 50 degree , so a vessel proceeding on normal way only this changes will happen when there is trouble , and i dont think this will cause a heavy email traffic , i believe any owner would like such alert system if you have chance to ask owners.

other issue of seeing 3 vessel in the same time , is more important issue for us , as we are using this program in a seperate computer in our office and attached a big lcd screen in the operation room so all guys to see vessel positions unfo we can only see one by one , and to see all vessel in the same screen we make zoom out and when we make zoom out , some green cubes coming to screen showing coverage areas which we want to delete from screen , and if we can have a area somewhere in the screen to write vessel voyage details would be perfect but dont know if such thing possible , i would like to send you a sample screen shot how this look like if you give me a email brgds

Alex,

I assume that Tifone means the AIS coverage green cubes / squares with the number of the vessels which appear at the start-up of the software. The idea is that he thinks that could be a useful option to have a choice whether to see them or not for the users (as for example they may do with Coordinate Grid, Vessel Names, Direction Vectors etc.).

Yes, now I understand what you meant by "green cubes". I agree that sometimes those rectangles can be a little annoying. Maybe for 5.2 we'll remove the green rectangles from the 2x-zoom (currently you see them at 1x-zoom and at 2x-zoom).

For the other AlertZone related issue: We'll see what we can do.

Dear Alex,

wht abt seeing 3 vessel position in the same time ?

or for example can be done something like this , we will add our ships in "follow up" area and program will show our vessel position with 2 or 3 or any minutes intervals (also may be we can choose this intervals) , i mean screen will show first vessel a , after 2 minutes will show vessel b , after 2 minutes vessel c position , and it is important when showing vessel position should be not so close not so far ..

This sounds like a presentation feature which isn't really our main goal. As far as I understand you want ShippingExplorer to show 1 out of 3 vessels each 2 minutes?

Alex,

Again I suppose that Tifone means he wishes to see positions at a time on the map of 3 vessels from his My Vessels list he created. At the moment ShippingExplorer software doens't have such an option and may show the position of 1 vessel from such a list at a time.

You can select multiple vessels from your "My Ships"-folder by holding the CTRL-key while clicking them. Or just click on "My Ships" and it'll show all of the vessels in that list.
