Tuapse CSP throughput climbs 2 percent to 19 million tons

The volume of cargo handled at the terminals operated by JSC Tuapse Commercial Seaport (TCSP, TMTP) in 2011 grew by 2 percent year-on-year, to 19 million tons, the stevedore press service said.


Exports flow was up 2% from a year earlier, to 18.3 million tons. Shipments of crude oil rose 5 percent to 13.4 million tons, while coal handling decreased by 12% to 2.9 million tons. Grain exports from TCSP’s terminal soared threefold to 1.5 mln tons, which is attributed to grain exports ban lifted in the summer of 2011.


In 2011, the port of Tuapse saw a positive trend in the segment of inbound goods. The stevedore handled 650,000 tons of imported cargo, a 30-percent surge from 2010’s numbers. Shipments of raw sugar rose as much as 20% to 530,000 tons, the company statistics said.


In the reporting period, Tuapse CSP offloaded/loaded 908 cargo ships and 81,000 rail cars.


Tuapse Commercial Sea Port JSC (TMTP), founded in 1994, is the main stevedore company operating at one of the largest ports in Russia - the port of Tuapse. UCL Holding (65.06%) and Russian Government (25%) are major stockholders of TMTP JSC.

Tuapse bulk terminal throughput totals 418,800 tons

Shipments of fertilizer from Tuapse Bulk Terminal owned by EuroChem in 2011 amounted to 418,800 tons, a source in the Port Authority told PortNews. The facility’s projected annual capacity is 2.3 million tons of dry granular fertilizer.


The terminal started operation in the summer of 2011 amid vigorous protests of local environmentalists.


The terminal owner said the location was chosen due to Tuapse port proximity to EuroChem facilities, the capabilities of Tuapse railway station and the port’s infrastructure for safe navigation and its ability to handle of large vessels, acceptable weather conditions for continuous year-round operations.


EuroChem is Russia's largest producer of mineral fertilizers, which is ranked among top three European and ten global industry leaders.

Port of Tuapse throughput rises 4.3 percent to 19.4 million tons

Cargo traffic at the Port of Tuapse in 2011 grew by 4.3% year-on-year to 19.4 million tons, the Association of Commercial Seaports statistics said.


Port of Tuapse is located on the Black Sea’s North-East, Tuapse Bay, Krasnodar Territory. The Tuapse harbor is separated from seaway by the South pier, southwestern and western breakwaters. Tuapse ranks second, next to Novorossiysk, major Russia’s port based on the Black Sea that enables oil product exports from the country. In 2010, Tuapse Port handled 18.61 million tons of cargoes.

RN-Bunker takes delivery of RN-Magellan tanker on time charter

LLC RN-Bunker announced the delivery of the time-chartered 4,500 tons RN-Magellan tanker from Rosnefteflot as of Oct. 21st, the Company said Friday.



The tanker handover ceremony was held today at the port of Murmansk. The ceremony was attended by the Murmansk regional authorities, representatives of OJSC Rosneft, CJSC Rosnefteflot and LLC RN-Bunker.



Under the time charter agreement signed between CJSC Rosnefteflot and LLC RN Bunker the tanker is chartered for 10 years.



The conventional tanker of ice navigation RN Magellan is classified as 1A. Build year - 2007, DWT – 4,622 tons. Home Port - Murmansk.



The tanker will be operated on the short sea services between the ports of Arkhangelsk and Murmansk, along the Kola Peninsula coast and Novaya Zemlya, and in bunkering operations of RN-Bunker’s fleet in the Kola Bay.



Rosneft Bunker (RN-Bunker), a 100%-owned company of Rosneft, supplies bunker fuels at all major Russian ports of the Far East, Black Sea and the North-West regions of Russia, at river ports of the Volga-Don, Amur and Lena basins. The delivered oil products are produced at Rosneft’s seven refineries based in Komsomolsk, Achinsk, Angarsk, Kuibyshev, Novokuibyshevsk, Syzran and Tuapse. RN-Bunker transships oil products at 4 port oil depots located in Sakhalin, Nakhodka, Archangelsk, Tuapse, and at the FSO vessel Belokamenka.

Rosneft could get 30% in Exxon Mobil's projects
Russian major oil company Rosneft may get up to 30 percent in ExxonMobil's projects as part of a $3.2 billion agreement signed in August, RIA Novosti reports quoting Glenn Waller, head of Exxon Mobil Russia.

Rosneft had to decide on its share in Exxon Mobil's projects at the beginning of 2012, Waller told journalists.

Igor Sechin, Deputy Prime Minister in charge of energy, has said Rosneft would get a share in no less than six of Exxon Mobil's projects in the U.S.

The deal between Rosneft and Exxon is aimed at exploring the East Prinovozemelsky Blocks 1, 2 and 3 in the Kara Sea in the Russian Arctic and the Tuapse License Block in the Black Sea. The deal also presupposed Rosneft's participation in Exxon Mobil's turf in the United States, particularly the Gulf of Mexico and Texas, as well as in third countries.

The pact gives Exxon, which already works with Rosneft on the Sakhalin-1 offshore project in Russia's Far East, access to substantial reserves in Russia, the world's top oil producer, while Rosneft, which was in search of a partner to provide it with shelf technologies it lacks.

Tuapse grain terminal handles first Panamax ship ever

For the first time Panamax size bulk carrier docked at the grain terminal of Tuapse Commercial Sea Port. The Gallant John will take on board 52,500 tons of wheat, the company said.

After three days the vessel laden with grain cargo will head for Jordan.

The Tuapse grain terminal’s annual capacity is 2.4 million tons of grain. JSC Tuapse Commercial Sea Port (TMTP), founded in 1994, is the main stevedore company operating at one of the largest ports in Russia - the port of Tuapse. UCLH holds a 65.06 percent stake in TMTP, Russian Government owns 25 percent of shares.
