Nakhodka holds keel-laying ceremony for second tanker of 0021 project

An official keel-laying ceremony for the 3100dwt tanker of Project 00211 was held on May 16, in Nakhodka. The construction of the tanker is part of the program for building a fleet for Russian oil company Rosneft, the company said. JSC Nakhodka Marine Partners has been selected as the contractor for Far East Center of Shipbuilding Ship Repair (FESSC, member of United Shipbuilding Corporation, USC) for the tanker’s hull construction.

The new vessel is a modern, powerful tanker of ice-class Arc4 classed to Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and can be operated year-round in the Far East.

The tanker main characteristics: length overall - 88,9 m, beam - 13,6 m, draft - 5.4 m. The vessel features the state-of-the-art operating and maneuvering capabilities. The tanker was designed for transportation of over 3,000 tons of oil products, simultaneously loading / unloading of four different types of petroleum products. The tanker crew - 15.

JSC Rosnefteflot will supervise the construction and after the tanker delivery to the owner, which is scheduled for late 2013 will operate the vessel in the Far East.

Rosnefteflot has been engaged in newbuilds orders and supervising construction, both in the interest of Rosneft, and for other companies. For the past 14 years, under the supervision of Rosnefteflot the Russian and foreign shipyards have built 25 vessels for various purposes. Today, Rosnefteflot has in operation 27 vessels of various classes. In 2011, the company implemented the projects for commissioned new bunkering tankers in the ports of Murmansk and Tuapse.

Port of Nakhodka traffic volume rises 7.4 percent in Jan-Mar

Cargo throughput at the port of Nakhodka in the first quarter of 2012 increased by 9.6% from a year ago, to 4.9 million tons, the Nakhodka Port Authority said.



Oil product exports were up 1.4% year-on-year to 1.68 mln tons. Shipments of ferrous and nonferrous metals surged by 35.8% and 10.2% from a year ago to 1.14 million tons and to 140,000 tons, accordingly. Export of anthracite rose 7.6% to 784,500 tons. Handling of timber cargo fell 11.1% to 177,400 tons. Container throughput increased by 5% to 436,000 TEUs.



In March, the port saw 1.42 million tons of different cargoes, a 6.2-percent gain year-over-year. Monthly volume of petroleum products was unchanged as compared with last year’s figures (557,200 tons). The volume of ferrous metals grew by 14.9% (370,900 tons), of non-ferrous metals - by 34.1% (55,000 tons). Handling of anthracite increased by 11.3% to 353,100 tons. During the month, shipments of timber cargo declined by 21.2% to 59,900 tons, while container traffic soared 40% to 78,000 TEUs.

Port of Nakhodka traffic rises 7.4% to 1.31 mln tons

Cargo throughput at the port of Nakhodka in January 2012 increased by 7.4% from a year ago, to 1,313,000 tons, the Nakhodka Port Authority said Tuesday.


Shipments of dry bulk cargo rose 5.1 percent to 686,000 tons. Exports of coal, coke, , including charge and anthracite, fell 5% to 199,300 tons, timber cargo volume declined by 3.7% to 55,500 tons. General cargo traffic totaled 424,700 tons, up 12.3% from 2011’s numbers, including 366,000 tons of ferrous metals (+20.9%) and 37,100 tons of non-ferrous metals (-9.8%).


Container traffic rose by 11.5% to 154 TEUs. Shipments of oil products grew by 10.1% to 627,400 tons.

EVRAZ Nakhodka Port traffic volume rises 13 percent

Cargo throughput at EVRAZ Nakhodka Commercial Sea Port (JSC EVRAZ NCSP) in January 2012 totaled more than 516,000 tons, or up 13% over the same period last year, the Company press release said. EVRAZ NCSP said it had accomplished its plan for January by 103.3%.


The bulk of monthly traffic volume was ferrous metal – 376,000 tons. The rest of the volume included aluminum, coke, coal and timber.


JSC EVRAZ Nakhodka Commercial Sea Port, a largest port in Russia’s Far East, located in the eastern Gulf of Peter the Great, the Nakhodka Bay. The year-round navigable Port is connected via Trans-Siberian Railroad with the railway network of Russia and Western Europe. The port is able to handle up to 450 rail cars a day.


JSC EVRAZ NCSP has 15 cargo-handling multipurpose berths and one - for port fleet of total length of 3.5 km. The facilities are able to accommodate ships with draft of 11 m, length of 230 m, and breadth of 32 meters. At least 15 sea-going ships can dock at the port, which can handle annually more than 1,500 large tonnage vessels.

Port of Nakhodka cargo volume down 4 percent in Jan-Nov

Throughput of the port of Nakhodka in the past eleven months of this year fell 4% from January-November of 2010, to 13.67 million tons, the Port Authority said.


In November, cargo traffic grew by 11.6%, 1,239,100 tons.


Eleven-month volume of dry bulk cargo dropped by 2.8% to 7,627,600 tons. Shipments of hard coal declined by 29% to 3,446,600 tons, timber exports totaled 505,000 tons (-7.5%).


Handling of general cargo fell by 20.5% to 3,604,900 tons, including 2,852,900 tons of ferrous metals (-25.2%) and 395,500 tons of nonferrous metals (+21.4%).


Container traffic rose by 7% from a year earlier, to 1,962 TEUs. Crude oil shipments fell by 5.5% to 6,450,400 tons.

Rosneft to supply bunker fuel for "Sakhalin-2" operator through Nakhodka
State-owned Rosneft and Sakhalin Energy have signed a long-term contract for supply of bunker fuel for the Sakhalin-2 project operator, Rosneft press office said. The fuel will be delivered through a Rosneft’s terminal based at the port of Nakhodka.

So far, the state-owned oil giant has supplied the fuel to oil tankers and LNG carriers of Sakhalin Energy only in the ports of Korea, Singapore and Hong Kong. Under the contract Rosneft has already made bunkering of the Sakhalin Island tanker.

The contract with a major customer in Russian Far East has become an important step in expansion of bunkering business of Rosneft, and creation at the Russian port of Nakhodka of an international bunkering hub.

The Nakhodka-based terminal of Rosneft is able to handle 7 million tons of oil products a year. In January-November, petroleum products deliveries for export and domestic market through Nakhodka terminal totaled 6.068 million tons.

Sakhalin Energy Investment Company Ltd. (Sakhalin Energy) is the operator of the Sakhalin-2 project under a Production Sharing Agreement with the Russian Federation. The company was formed in 1994 to develop the Piltun-Astokhskoye oil field and the Lunskoye gas field in the Sea of Okhotsk offshore Sakhalin Island in the Russian Far East.
