Zaliv Shipyard to build PSV hulls for Damen Shipyards Bergum

Ukraine’s Zaliv Shipyard will build, under the contract with Damen Shipyards Bergum, two outfitted hulls for Platform Supply Vessels of PSV 3300 project, the Ukrainian shipbuilder said.


The shipyard plans to commence the order execution in April this year. The first vessel delivery is scheduled for January 2013, the second - in April 2013.


The shipbuilding firm will perform assembly-welding work as well as outfitting of PSV hulls, namely, insulation, cable laying and installation of main shipboard equipment: diesel - generators, pumps, steering gear, etc.


The Shipyard’s Marketing & Sales CEO Yuri Dovgy, the construction of offshore supply vessels will be the first joint experience of Zaliv and Damen Shipyards Bergum.


Kerch-based Zaliv Shipyard (Crimea, Ukraine) is part of the group of AvtoKrAZ’s affiliated companies. Zaliv Shipyard specializes in the construction of tankers and container ships, repairs of ships of various tonnage and destination. Private Limited Company Forth Asset (UK) owns a 37.94% stake of the shipyard.

Kerch Strait bridge project goes ahead

Experts of the Russian-Ukrainian joint committee have approved all of the issues related to the project of building a new bridge across the Kerch Strait, the Russian Transport Ministry said.

Following the results of the 10th meeting of the Transport Subcommittee of the Committee on Economic Cooperation of the Russian-Ukrainian Interstate Commission, the two sides noted the high level of cooperation within the framework of the task team working on implementation of the project.

The project is expected to get approval by the governments of Ukraine and Russia in accordance with their national laws, the report said. No details were disclosed.

The first bridge across the Kerch Strait was destroyed during WWII in 1945. To replace the destroyed bridge the former Soviet Union launched in 1953 the Kerch ferry line. In recent decades, the issue of building a new bridge had been extensively discussed. In February 2011 the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych announced that Ukraine and Russia are working on the bridge project.

Донузлав, в составе которого имеются: глубоководный причал- длина 354,1 м, глубина у кордона- 9 м, строительный причал- длина 101,5 м, глубина у кордона- 3,5 м, паромный причал- длина 10,4 м, глубина у кордона- 3 м. Проект развития предусматривает создание транспортного узла с развитой инфраструктурой, имеющего большие перспективы в связи с близостью к Черноморским путям транспортировки нефти, международным транспортным коридорам и небольшое расстояние от Босфора. Постановка судов на якорь в Керченском проливе осуществляется в границах якорных стоянок №№ 450, 452, 453. Суда с осадкой до 8 м становятся на стоянки №№ 450, 453, районы которых ограничены окружностью радиусом 6 кабельтовых. Координаты центров якорных стоянок:
   № 450: ш - 45 11 18 N, д - 36 29 12 Е;
   № 453: ш - 45 28 06 N, д - 36 37 07 Е;
Суда с осадкой до 6 м становятся на якорное место № 452. На внутреннем рейде могут стоять 2 судна длиной до 120 м каждое, или 1 судно более 120 м.
