But under which name/identification/number would you file it here? A MMSI number can be reused. I'm not sure about IMO numbers. Call signs are not unique. So, what's left?

It's just a set of pictures.
The name of the photo is the name of the ship.
Many of them have searched for the IMO number and can not find information about them, so, the only thing I want is if you are a people who likes boats, enjoy some photos from the past.

I don't like the idea of having loose photos just floating around. Every photo should somehow be connected to a ship so everyone can lookup further information on the ship or just look at other old photos of that ship.

IMO-Nummern sind vergleichbar mit der Fahrgestellnummer eines Autos. Vom Stapellauf bis zur Verschrottung bleibt die IMO-Nr. erhalten, ist unauslöschlich an vorgeschriebenen Stellen im Schiff angebracht und wird nach Verschrottung nicht noch einmal vergeben.
